Earlier this week, Hometown P.E. teachers, Dave Dare and Karyn Kicho, organized and facilitated a Family Fitness Event for 3rd through 5th-grade students.
In an effort to inform parents about the various developmental skills focused on daily in physical education, parents were invited to the school to observe and take part in a typical P.E. class.
“We wanted our families to experience some of the activities we do in P.E. to develop their children’s physical fitness,” said Dare.
Students led their parents through twelve different stations throughout the gym, including rope climbing, planking, balance boards, and cup stacking all used to demonstrate the developmental skills taught in P.E.
