Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School opened its doors to retired District 123 Staff for the first ever Retiree Luncheon.
More than 20 former teachers, administrators, and other staff members gathered to hear about the new and exciting things going on in District 123 from Google Expeditions to the implementation of Chromebooks in the classroom.
“We really wanted to take that first step and let them know they are welcome to come back at any time and we truly hope they do. They have each given so much to our school district and they believe in our mission, it is only right that they contribute to our future as well, said District 123 Board Member and Ed Foundation Member Theresa Roche.
The District 123 Ed Foundation sponsored the luncheon where attendees had the opportunity to catch up with peers, and hear all about how the Ed Foundation provides new opportunities for students through their mini-grant program and various District events such as the golf outing and upcoming Bowling for Balloon Brigades.
